TWO HOSTS Wanted For 30 min Local TV Show! (Originally posted on craigslist)

Greeting from Studio 1 at Ocean Campus at City College of SF,
We're looking for telegenic and charismatic people who are high-energy but relaxed in public speaking environments to be the face of our new, HD-based 30 minute Television program series called "IDTV".
If chosen, your work as the IDTV host will be to host IDTV as on-screen talent introducing the show itself, program segments and packages, interview guests and to work with producers and writers. IDTV shows are broadcast on local TV to 220,000 viewers in the Bay Area via Channel 27 & 75 (SF/Comcast cable) and also via a dedicated internet video channel. Next to working with upcoming video professionals from the show, you'll generate great materials for both a DVD and an online reel.

AUDITIONS:
On-camera auditions will be held ONLY on Wed. 23 and Fri 25th of February (10AM-12:30PM). Please let me know when you plan on coming:

Time: Early 10-11 OR Middle 11-12 OR Later 12-12:30

PREPARATION
All attendees will be able to audition from a teleprompter script and with improvisational material for at least 10 min (more if time allows). We'll have as much of the daily schedule set as possible but allow for additional time (≈ 1hour) when you arrive. We'll provide a short, simple introduction script to the show as well as a short intro script to a guest interview - that you can read from a camera teleprompter - and we'll ask you to improvise for a few minutes also to get to know your style.
No specific attire is expected, but we suggest wearing clothes that you're comfortable in but that are appropriate to a host of a college TV magazine show.

IDTV is 3x 30min magazine-style TV shows produced by advanced broadcasting students in the Broadcast Department at Ocean Campus CCSF from March to May 2011. The 30 min. shows are made up of roughly 50-50% field packages (stories shot on location outside the studio) and studio segments (produced with the hosts in the studio). The first two will be broadcast on Channel 27 as "IDTV" after taping and the last show (#3) hits the air live.

Host Auditions This Week!

Yes, we know. We have been talking about this for couple weeks, but we still want you to know that our auditions for hosts are scheduled on both this Wednesday the 23rd and Friday the 25th, from 10:00am - 12:30pm, you can come on either of these days, and we have divided into three time sections on each day. Early section: from 10-11, mid section: from 11-12, late section: from 12-12:30. You can choose one of the sections that is most convenient to you. We are expecting to audition one talent for about ten minutes, therefore, we could totally audition 30 people on both days. So far, we have 3 people confirmed to come on this Wednesday, 7 people confirmed to come this Friday, and 9 people have expressed their interests but haven't confirm their schedules yet. It looks like we are getting more great people to the auditions, and it's really exciting.

There are still a few spots (11 if we count those unconfirmed people) available for you to come, if you are interested to be our new IDTV host, please contact Misha, mishavideo@gmail.com and ask him for more details. We also posted an updated craigslist ad, unfortunately the ad was removed by craigslist last night and we have some troubles to re-post it. We are going to re-post that craigslist ad on this blog later today, and if you still have any question or concern regarding our auditions, send an email to the address that I mentioned above.

Update On The Upcoming Auditions

Hi, folks, hope you all had a great weekend.

As you have probably known, our IDTV show's audition for hosts is only about one week from today. PA Lil' V has posted a craigslist ad over the weekend, he received a number of responses since then. PA Lil' V also asked Misha this morning about the update of the searching for hosts, and it seems we should have a number of potential people coming to the auditions on either next Wednesday or Friday. We have also sent an email to those who expressed their interest in the host positions, telling them some basic info of the IDTV show, asking them what time / date they would come to the auditions, etc. And more importantly, we're warmly welcome them to the auditions as well.

Way to go! PA Lil' V is confident that we should have two awesome and talented hosts for the show! We are still looking forward to have more people coming to the auditions. Our team will meet in class tomorrow morning and we will post any update right here tomorrow night. :-)

IDTV Behind The Scenes - February 11 - Working On The First Interview As...

All right, PA Lil' V just wants to share a short "behind the scenes" video of our first interview last Friday. We promise we will post more great "behind the scenes" videos as the show progresses. Another thing is PA Lil' V has talked to Misha - the teacher and exec prod of IDTV show - regarding the searching of new hosts, so far PA Lil' V has posted a craigslist ad last night and Misha has created a listing / poster that have been sent out to various departments of CCSF, Cinema Department, Graphic Communications Department, Theatre Department, just to name a few. We also have the NEW flyer with updated design, (don't worry, PA Lil' V will post it right here shortly) and PA Lil' V will make another posting on the BAVC website... Yeah, we just want to make sure everyone will know about our upcoming auditions, and encourage them and their friends to come. Of course, PA Lil' V will work closely with Misha as the craigslist ad replies come in.

Our New HD Studio at Ocean Campus

PA Lil' V knows many of you are interested about our new HD video production studio at the CCSF Ocean Campus, so here is a little info about our new studio. The production studio is located inside the Art Extension Building of the CCSF Ocean Campus, and it has become the home of IDTV since January of this year. Our new studio is equipped with all new technologies, including three new HD studio cameras, three new and powerful computers for HD video editing and effects, new Chyron Character Generator, new server as well as new "Ross" HD switcher.

Getting Ready For Our First Interview Assignment

Everything is getting closer and closer, this Friday will be our production date of our first interview assignment. PA Lil' V and everyone in the IDTV team were working hard to get ready, setting up the cameras, and more importantly, figuring out how to use the switcher and how to export video to the server. This will be our first working project since we moved into the new HD studio, and it should be our good opportunity to practice before the auditions. It's now only two weeks until auditions, we have to get the overall ideas on those new equipment, and working together with better understanding. Lots of things working on, but PA Lil'V believe that we could have the best IDTV show this year! PA Lil' V and the entire IDTV team did it last year, so will be this year! Come on!

All right, PA Lil' V will have some behind the scenes videos for the interview assignment this Friday. Meanwhile, we give you a few nice pictures and videos of our preparation today. Hi! My name is PA Lil' V, and welcome all of you to visit our new blog - IDTV Show PA Notebook!

For those of you don't know what is IDTV, let me explain here. So IDTV is a series of 30 minutes with 3 television episodes produced by the advanced broadcast students at City College Of San Francisco. All right, let me talk a little bit how this blog works. As the name suggests, this is a blog for me to share the news regarding our production progress of the IDTV show, as well as my insight. I'm one of the IDTV show production team members as of this year, and I have been hanging out in the CCSF Broadcast Electronic Media Arts Department for years. I almost took all the courses in their department but I still want to be there. Do you think I'm loyal?
